Vehicle Automatic Fire Suppression System |

Under extreme conditions, uncontrolled fire remains among the greatest threats to life and assets. Containment must be immediate and total.
The ANSUL Automatic Fire Suppression System (AFSS) provides fast, reliable fire protection for occupied and non-occupied areas in a wide range of vehicle platforms.
Engineered for minimal weight, size and ease of integration, the ANSUL AFSS is centered on unique high-speed infrared optical detection and central alarm/control. Within milliseconds of a slow-growth or rapid-spread explosive event, fire is detected and contained with a field-proven agent, and activated either automatically or manually depending on the severity.
Over the past four decades, the ANSUL brand has been built around the unique protection and compliance requirements for customers throughout the military and heavy industry. The ANSUL AFSS is no exception.
- Mil-Spec Compliant: MIL-STD-810 and MIL-DTL-7905H/DOT 3AA Non-Shat Cylinder
- Global Support Network

Electronic Control Module (ECM) |
As central control for the entire fire suppression system, the rugged ECM is designed to perform reliably under extreme environmental and physical conditions. Key features include continual power-fault monitoring, self-diagnostic routine (SDR) at start-up and onboard computer communication link.
Other features include:
- Environmentally sealed enclosures and connectors
- M12-style plug-and-play connections
- Lightweight alloy enclosures
- Mounting feet provide for installation on any surface
- External 24 VDC and battery backup power connection
- Sealed membrane push buttons
- Cylinder pressure monitoring
- Zone-selectable configuration
- Expandable to eight separate zones
- CANbus capability

Optical Sensor
The Quad-IR optical sensor technology used by the ANSUL AFSS is unique, with an unmatched ability to differentiate between open flames and hydrocarbon signatures from non-threatening sources such as cigarettes and engine heat. Quad-IR optical sensors help eliminate false alarms and accidental engagement – preserving protection for when it's actually needed. |
