Acoustic Nozzle
Noise Mitigation for Data Center Protection
The acoustic nozzle is crucial to help safeguard equipment sensitive to sound such as Hard Disk Drives (HDDs). The nozzle may be used in inert gas or halocarbon systems which are used to protect enclosures housing this type of equipment, but when discharged can produce sound levels that may be harmful to noise sensitive equipment. In the event of discharge, acoustic nozzles attenuate sound compared to standard nozzle designs. When used with the acoustic calculator, it is possible to estimate the sound power reaching the sensitive equipment, through algorithms that take into account the system flow rate, proximity of the nozzles to the sensitive equipment as well as the general construction of the protected space.
- Protects HDDs and sound-sensitive equipment
- Supports system sound level estimation and design
- Acoustic nozzle reduces discharge noise
